In honor of October, and my love of Halloween, I picked one of the scenes that really, truly freaked me out when I was a kid: The ride on the Wonkatania from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, one of my all-time favorite movies.

Gene Wilder captured a manic glee for this character that kids’s movies could use a lot more of, IMO. Also, the song he sings is the perfect accompaniment whenever you’re trapped in a small space with a bunch of other folks. I heartily recommend breaking it out in the elevator to the Top of the Rockefeller Center.
